Visit of the delegation from the Republic of Adjara

On 3^rd December 2014 the Institute was visited by the delegation from the Republic of Adjara, an autonomous republic of Georgia. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Adjara, Agro Service Center and Adjara TV were members of this delegation and Ioseb Abuladze, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Adjara, was the head of this delegation. The purpose of the visit in the Institute was to become familiar with the fields of research conducted in the Institute and sources and methods of collecting data on socio-economic situation in the agriculture and rural areas.

From the Institute’s side in the meeting participated: dr Paweł Chmieliński, dr inż. Zbigniew Floriańczyk, mgr inż. Katarzyna Kambo, mgr inż. Wiesław Łopaciuk, dr Adam Wasilewski, dr Barbara Wieliczko and dr Marek Wigier.

First topic presented by dr Marek Wigier concerned the Institute, its structure and research fields. As the second dr inż. Zbigniew Floriańczyk presented the Polish FADN, its structure and data collection system and mgr inż. Katarzyna Kambo discussed the range of data and information collected within the FADN. The last speaker was dr Paweł Chmieliński, who presented the methods applied in the Institute in the research on social processes in the development of agriculture and rural areas, especially the survey.

The members of Adjara’s delegation posed many questions during all the presentations. Most of them concerned the methods of data collection, sources of research funding and the institutional relations of the Institute with other institutions conducting research on agriculture and involved in support for this sector.

During the visit of the delegation from the Republic of Adjara dr inż. Zbigniew Floriańczyk and dr Marek Wigier give Adjara TV interviews concerning the Institute and conducted research.

Apart from the visit in the Institute the delegation from the Republic of Adjara also visited, among others, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture.
