Delegation from the Zhejiang Province in the People's Republic of China

On 24th February 2016 the Institute was visited by the delegation from the Zhejiang Province in the People’s Republic of China. The delegation was presided by prof. Zhu Li Ming, director of Macroeconomic Research Institute of Zhejiang Province Development and Reform Commission.  The delegation visited the Institute to get familiar with the development of the Polish agriculture and agri-food industry.

From the Institute’s side in the meeting participated: prof. dr. hab. Andrzej Kowalski, prof. dr hab. Wojciech Józwiak, dr hab. Agnieszka Wrzochalska, dr inż. Zbigniew Floriańczyk, dr Łukasz Ambroziak, dr Barbara Wieliczko and dr Marek Wigier.

The first of the discussed topics was the export of the Polish agri-food products. After the introduction to the topic made by prof. Andrzej Kowalski, dr Łukasz Ambroziak presented the changes of the scale of the Polish agri-food trade and its structure during the Polish membership in the EU.

The second topic were the structural changes in the Polish agriculture since the beginning of the transformation process discussed by prof. Andrzej Kowalski. Followed by a detailed presentation concerning the period 2002-2014 presented by dr Marek Wigier.

Dr inż. Zbigniew Floriańczyk presented the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) and deliberated on the changes in incomes of the Polish farmers after the EU accession. The threats to the development of the Polish agriculture posed by climate changes and water shortage were briefly discussed by prof. Wojciech Józwiak.

The visit ended with a discussion on the possibilities of co-operation between the Macroeconomic Research Institute of Zhejiang Province Development and Reform Commission and the IAFE-NRI.
